We're delighted to add Neuw to our collection at Wakakuu. Established in 2009 by three friends from Stockholm and Melbourne, Neuw draws inspiration from Neuwlandstraat in Brussels, where Creative Director Pär Lundqvist reimagined vintage denim pieces. Combining Nordic design with a relaxed Melbourne aesthetic influenced by contemporary music, art, and vintage design, Neuw offers top-notch fits, fabrics, and finishes. With a traditional approach to pattern-making and tailoring, Neuw creates enduring denim that molds to your body and improves with wear.

We collaborated with the creative profile Alexia Kafkaletos and had her try out denim from Neuw. Read more below and discover her thoughts on the new brand at Wakakuu.

Can you describe your style?

I usually say that my style is "Sporty-chic". I like to feel chic and dressed up but still with a touch of sportiness. I'm 100% a jeans and t-shirt girl, and my favorite "go-to" look is just that with a blazer and a pair of heels.

When building a long-lasting wardrobe, what are one or two things to keep in mind?

Quality and quantity. It's better to choose a few pieces that you love rather than many items that you might not use as often. Since I mostly wear jeans, I have a few different styles in various washes that I rotate between. Then, invest in good quality basics such as tops, sweaters, and a few pairs of shoes. It's better, as mentioned, to invest in slightly better quality and allow it to take a bit longer to build up your wardrobe, rather than buying lower quality items that lose their shape quickly and you end up getting rid of anyway.

Which two denim styles can’t you live without?

Straight - I love straight jeans and find the fit so nice on both "Nico" and "Mica". Plus, they come in many washes.
Boyfriend model - I love more relaxed fits, and perhaps that's the model I use the most. I like to feel comfortable when I dress and enjoy when the clothes aren't too tight.
