James Perse

James Perse was born in Los Angeles and spent his adolescence on the beach, in the ice hockey rink, or in his father's shop, Maxfield. Due to his Dad, James learned about fashion, architecture, design, and that elegance is often found in simplicity. His interest in sports led to a kind of obsession with finding a baseball cap that was perfect in terms of structure, form, material, and colors. Since he could not find such a cap, he decided to create the perfect cap for Maxfield himself. His customers later became regular clients – from film directors to record companies.

James Perse created his first women’s collection in 1996. A passion for minimalist architecture influenced by the Sun Coast's relaxed lifestyle is reflected in both design and aesthetics. The emphasis is placed on elegance, comfort, and simplicity, which are recurrent in all of the brand's elements.
